Bordoy Continental Palma

Dated hotel that has long since had its best days. Room was cold and bathroom had a hospital vibe. There was a mouldy smell in the wardrobe. Some of this could have been overlooked if the service was good but unfortunately communication from the frontdesk staff was severely lacking and there was never a smile from any of the staff. Location is ok at the outer edge of the old town area. One and only redeeming quality was the breakfast chef’s, who made nice eggs to order.

I stayed here for 4 night in September. The staff was very friendly and kind, from the people in reception to the cleaners and the waiters in breakfast as well. Breakfast was nice and they had a range of options, utensils were well cleaned and polished. Our room was big and spacious as well as the bathroom. The staff did a great job at keeping our room clean. However we had slight issues with our room. First, the lighting in the room during night time isn’t that great and the only lights in the room were the bedside lamps. Second, sometimes, after coming into our room from outings, our room smelled like sewage for a couple of minutes. It was horrible, but because we were constantly on the go we didn’t bring that up to the staff, we just opened the window for fresh air and headed out again.We probably would’ve made the staff aware of the issue if our stay was longer and the staff would’ve probably solved the issue if they were made aware of it. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant stay and will definitely stay in this hotel again if visiting Palma again.

Everything about the hotel was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Federico at reception. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable.

We never dined at the hotel, not did we use the fitness facilities. They have two meeting rooms - an 8 and a 14 seater room.

It's withing waking distance to old town and the harbor area.

You won't regret your stay.

The Continental is one of those hotels that breath old classy tourism. Usually when visiting a hotel that feels like it was built in the 70s or 80s, it all looks a bit .. worn. Not here. They’ve really kept everything intact and in perfect order, leaning into the vibe and amplifying it.
We really enjoyed the lush, wood panelled room, with delightfully white outdated (in style) but very clean and intact bathroom. The huge bed was also a super nice element.
The service was exemplary, quick and friendly. A shower faucet came off during our stay but was dealt with professionally and swiftly.
The breakfast deserves a mention too, it’s a good spread with nice menu options included. It’s also the first breakfast I’ve seen that offers cava, which I think is amazing.
So yeah, I recommend the Continental for your stay.

TERRIBLE SERVICE
I am very disappointed by this hotel and even feel disrespected for three main reasons
1- the parking is only for small cars (no suv) you then have to park in the city parking for 50 euros per day
2-the room was extremely noisy, bus, cars and bikes under the window all night and hotel hammer strikes in the room next door before 8am
3-we waited 1h for the check in and missed the last entry hour for the spa. you can’t access the spa after 7pm despite the 8pm closure time annonced

I can add really poor service, no understanding and lack of solution. For the price we paid I am sincerely chocked
