Hotel Amic Horizonte

I stayed here for two nights with a friend. I booked and PAID for a room with two twin beds and received a room with one queen bed and one twin bed in the corner of the room. I understand that hotels can overbook certain rooms, but I was not made aware of this change, and it was not what I paid for. The wall next to the twin bed was dirty and stained, and the balcony outside of the room look like it had never been clean before. Also, if you are planning on walking in and out of the hotel to the city center, just beware that the hotel is located on a very steep hill. The overall front desk service was good and they were able to call a taxi for me in the morning to the airport. Since my room was changed, I had to walk to the next building outside to get to my room, and to get there, you have to go down a set of stairs and past the restaurant.
Since the restaurant was closed they turned off all the lights, and it is really hard to see the stairs and where you are going. I would rate my overall experience a 3/5, I don’t think that this hotel is necessarily bad, but not great either.

I was last week in the Hotel Amic Horizinte in Palma and I can only express my big satisfaction about rooms, complete service, professionalism of the staff. They offered me coffee (free of charge) on the terrace with fantastic viee, even the restaurant was in last preparations before season and wasn't officially wotking that day. The staff is more than nice, epecially on the reception and in the restaurant. The view from my room was amazing. The hygien of the hotel is realy on very good level. Thank you for all!

I chose to write this review a few months after my stay, to avoid judging the experience while emotions were still fresh. Looking at it objectively now, I believe 3 stars is a fair rating.

I stayed at the hotel for one week at the end of September 2024. In terms of cleanliness, I was quite disappointed. Upon arrival, there were hair strands left in the bathroom near the toilet, and they remained there for another 2–3 days, even though housekeeping came every day.

Also, the room does not include a complimentary bottle of water or any welcome amenities; if you need water, you have to buy it from the vending machine at the reception.

That said, the biggest downside for me was the room itself. The website lists several room options (standard, sea view, etc.). I chose a room called “Superior Double with Large Bed and Sea View”, which came at an extra cost. However, I did not expect a Superior sea view room to be located on the 2nd floor, which in practice feels more like the 1st floor (as the ground floor and 1st floor are at the same level). You press “2” in the elevator, but the room is actually quite low. As a result, the sea/bay view from the balcony is very limited and not what you would expect based on the room name. This may partly be my own expectation, but the term “Superior” suggests something different.

I had dinner once at the hotel restaurant – the food was decent, nothing special but not bad either. In any case, there are plenty of very good restaurants nearby.

Parking is not available at the hotel (at least that’s what I was told at reception), but I managed to find free parking spots in the area every day. As a backup, there is a nearby mall that offers long-term parking (around €20 for 10 hours), which is a safe alternative if no free spots are available.

The hotel left a very disappointing impression. The reality did not match the photos – there was no view as shown. Even worse, the room had duvets without covers and with yellow stains. When we asked for covers, the staff told us that this was normal. Such an attitude towards guests is unacceptable. Cleanliness and basic comfort are the minimum one can expect from any hotel. Unfortunately, our stay was spoiled and I cannot recommend this place.

Our vacation was wonderful. The hotel is in a great location, right between the sea and the beach. The port is also within walking distance, which was very convenient for our ferry trip. We had a room on a high floor with a beautiful view of the port. The view was truly amazing. The hotel offers excellent breakfasts with a lot of variety. There is also a lovely rooftop terrace. The warm pool with massage jets and plenty of sunbeds was a big plus. I truly recommend this hotel and will gladly come back again.
