We Hostel Palma

As a female solo traveler, I would definitely NOT recommend this place. It’s not a youth hostel, not a community hostel, the average people who stay there are around 30-60 years olds. The location is okay, you can take the bus to get to the center, you can’t really walk to the center, that’d take you 40 min if you’re fast. AND is a techno club next to the hostel, so on weekends it’s so incredibly loud because of the low beats, people smoking in the ally, there’s also constructions site around the area. I really didn’t feel comfortable there, the showers was so inconvenient, the hostel was under construction while I was there, the kitchen literally only has two seats, so during the winter if you don’t want to eat outside at the balcony , you have to eat while if other people already took the seats. The drawer under the beds are so loud, I didn’t want to wake other people up when I pull out the drawer but it was impossible, I also constantly get waken up by the loud drawer. The bed stairs are so hard to climb up and climb up. Unfortunately in my room there were only men, of course I can’t speak for everyone but it’s mostly older men who stays there, I had to wear AirPods everyday to have an okay sleep. I’m usually not picky but it was quite unbearable

A good hostel, clean, lots of services.
The only thing was it had loud ventilation above the bed that couldn't be turned off. So you need ear plugs, but with them it was wonderful.

This was honestly the worst hostel experience of my life and I really want to warn anyone, especially solo travelers, before they book this place. I found bedbugs in my bed (photo below), which was already unacceptable, but things went downhill even further.

Around 5 AM I was using the kitchen and the night staff member approached me in an extremely aggressive, rude and vulgar way. I immediately said I was completely fine with paying the 12€ night fee for using the kitchen, but instead of letting me pay he told me to pack my things and get out. He literally threw me out onto the street at 5 in the cold morning for using the kitchen. I’ve stayed in many hostels around the world and I’ve never experienced anything like this.

After I contacted Booking.com, the hostel even tried to accuse me of stealing food, which was absolutely ridiculous. Booking reviewed everything, understood the situation and refunded me.

I’m honestly shocked that a place like this is still operating. The staff member working the night of November 28–29 should not be working with guests at all. This place felt completely unprofessional and unsafe.

My advice: stay far away from this hostel. There are much better and safer options nearby.

I had a pleasant stay at this hostel. It’s super clean and well located, next to a bus station and a small supermarket! There is also a kitchenette and lots of fridges. There is also a small space to hang and dry your clothes!

The showers are not the best tho, but it kinda works. There is also a lot of place to chill out or work, the WiFi connection was perfect everywhere. It was very easy to make friends :)

My bed was wet when I arrived (cleaning supplies I guess) and the room was ready only 1h later but personally I didn’t mind at all.

I just think that it’s a bit overpriced for what you get, especially since you have to do your bedsheets yourself and there is no locker. You also have to pay, if you want to leave your luggage locked before leaving.

The girls at the reception were all friendly as well!

We ended up checking out early because of how bad it was. The room had a horrible stench. In the morning, the water in the sink in the girls bathroom was black. There were bed bugs, and we had to put our own sheets on the bed. My friend and I booked together to be in the same bunk but another person took it so we were separated. There was no soap in the bathroom. The location was far from the center. Do not stay here if you value cleanliness and convenience.
